Focus on WHO vs. HOW

What's up friends? Dr. Bruce here with your message about productivity and one of the things that I've really been focused on in my own business and network coaching clients is focusing on WHO versus the how.

When you focus on how and you make a list of all the things that has to get done, it can become very overwhelming because most people we coach are in charge of their sales, service, and marketing. A mindset shift is to focus on who can help you get all these things done so that you can stay focused on doing the things you enjoy with the people who matter most.

Once you really figure out who can help you with those things, it will help you alleviate a lot of the stress and overwhelm for you. Especially in terms of your marketing activities.

Being a Person of Influence is Simple but Not Easy

We want you to be a person of influence in your market and to your database of people. Do they see you as a must-have versus a nice to have because “nice-to-haves” get cut-out.

One of the best ways to be a person of influence to your database is through video marketing. The challenge is there are a half-dozen things that need to be done for pre, during, and post-video production. You might also need graphic design work done and one sheets created or event planning. When you start to look at a checklist of these activities, again, it can become overwhelming and you can go through paralysis by analysis. Or even worse, it can take you away from the most important activities for your business which are money-generating activities.

Marketing Membership Models

For instance, in my business I record a weekly video to run engagement ads on Facebook, a blog article, and to blast to through my newsletter. None of that happens until I sit down and just hit record on my camera. This video, I'm in my hotel room here in Scottsdale, Arizona. I just pull up my camera phone. I have it on my Mount. I have a nice little microphone right here and just hit record.

And as far as post-edit production goes, I just send this off to accompany a third-party company that I use, that'll make this thing come to life and have captions and have all those kinds of things, that way when it's ready there seven different places now that I can send us off to for my marketing team for them to use this one video on.

So again, focusing on the who versus the how is especially relevant for solopreneurs out there, because there are a lot of things for you to do every single day and tied to your sales, your service, and your marketing. If you have a team, obviously this is part of building out a process is when you figure out all this stuff as a solopreneur and then from there you can build out your team around you to delegate these things through.
