According to Facebook, “Lead ads are the best way to run lead generation campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. Lead ads let people show their interest in a product or service by filling out a form in the ad with their details and allowing a business to follow up with them.”

As we all know, Facebook can seem extremely daunting. But we’re here to walk you through it and help you overcome any challenges! Follow along with Travis Thom as he shows you step by step how to set up a lead ad campaign. Below this video are written instructions to guide you.
Once you’re inside the ad manager, click “Lead Generation.” Type in “Buyer Lead Generation.” The goal is to narrow your audience to 75,000 to 150,000 people.
Start with selecting a group of people using proper naming conventions like “first time home buyers” or “home buyers shopping for homes.” Then choose the Facebook page you’d like to promote on, such as your business page.
Next, define your audience by location. Select a city, such as Denver, then your reach, such as a 15-mile radius. This ad will target everyone that lives in the selected area that is available for ad reach.
This brings you to the detailed targeting step. This is where we will narrow the group by interest. Type in interests like Zillow, Realtor.com, house hunting, first-time home buying, relocation, interested in buying a house, and more. You can narrow the audience even more by matching two criteria together, such as house hunting and Zillow. It’s important to note this detailed step is optional.
After your audience is solidified, you select placements on Facebook and Instagram for your lead ad then determine your budget. We recommend spending $10/day per 100,000 people.
Next, set a time to start and end your ad. Don’t forget to click and agree to the new terms and conditions.
Now, select a media format, either single video or image, and write your ad description. You will need a headline, text, and call to action. Try using emojis to help your ad catch more eyes.
Next, you will build the ad’s lead form with a header and information gathering questions and prompts. Make sure to include fields for the user information you’d like to gather, such as name, email, and phone number. These fields will be auto-populated from their profile. Make sure you name the form so you can find and edit it at a later time.
Finally, upload your own privacy policy link. You cannot run an ad without this policy. You can also add your website link to the ad.
Your lead ad is now in your library. Click continue and you can review your entire campaign.
Please note, the above video discusses targeting by age, however, Facebook recently changed their policy, so you can no longer do so.
